ABOUT THE ARTIST:

Paul Tebo received an MFA in Drawing from the University of Arizona. He has exhibited in Rhode Island and Arizona over the years. Galleries include: Joseph Gross Gallery, Tucson, Arizona; University of Arizona Museum of Fine Art; Union Art Gallery, Tucson, Arizona; Glendale College Art Gallery, Glendale, Arizona; Providence Art Club, Providence, Rhode Island; and also at the Torpedo Gallery, Alexandria, VA.

He has completed a series of pieces on soldiers from the American Civil War and more recently, the wars of the past two decades. His perspective shows not the triumphalism of war but the suffering of the soldier, which he describes as "an apt metaphor for the pain that inevitably touches all our lives." His work aims to put that pain in plain sight, without need for the gloss of heroism.

He resides in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
